Downwinders

Ride with the wind from one spot to the next.

Small groups. No more than 3 riders per instructor.

A downwinder is a kiteboarding session where you travel with the wind from one spot to another farther down the coast. It is a mix of adventure, adrenaline, freedom, and exploration. If you are an avid kiteboarder, this mini expedition is a must-try.

South Florida offers some of the best downwinders: scenic coastlines, warm water, and side-shore winds. It is one of the most rewarding kiteboarding experiences you can have.

Our instructors ride along with you the whole way. They give you tips on board and kite control as you go. At the finish, we have refreshments and time for your questions. Then we shuttle you back to your vehicle.

PICK YOUR LEVEL

• Level 1: 5 to 10 miles
• Level 2: 10 to 20 miles
• No more than 3 riders per instructor

SAFETY FIRST

• 15 minute warm-up before we leave
• Self-rescue and safety review before we leave
• Safe exit points along the route
• Wear bright colors so we can spot you

WHAT'S INCLUDED

• Instructor on the water with you
• Tips on board and kite control along the way
• Refreshments and a question and answer session at the finish
• Shuttle back to your vehicle
